Skarsnuten displays Tormod Granheims photographies.
Tormod Granheim has for many years been one of Norway’s leading adventurers. He is most profiled for having climbed Mount Everest in one day, and skied, as the world’s first, down the mountain’s 2700 meter high north wall. He then became the first man from the Nordic countries to have climbed all 82 peaks in the Alps over 4,000 meters.
This series of photographs portrays the mountains around Chamonix. Granheim himself is among these mountains and has a personal relationship with the motives. In his photographs, Granheim focuses on the mountains’ boundless beauty, silent robustness and inherent rawness that occasionally moves towards chaos. The timeless motifs evoke emotions such as calm, wonder, humility, curiosity and the desire for adventure.
